An Ogiek hunter looks out over his lands in the Mau Forest, on the edge of the Rift Valley in Kenya.  ’The forest is an ecological haven and we are conservationists, so we treat it well and live in balance with it,’ said Kiplanagat Cheruyot, an Ogiek man. The Kenyan government is now trying to evict the Ogiek and illegal settlers from the forest.
